When is the Round the Island Race 2019?
The race gets underway at 0730 on Saturday 29 June 2019, with the first of 11 separate groups crossing the start line at Cowes and heading off on the 50-mile, one-lap anti-clockwise course around the Isle of Wight.
Who’s racing in it?
Over 1,400 boats are expected to compete across 32 classes – the most popular of which being the ISCRS Class 8, with 160 entries at the time of writing.
How can I follow the action?
There are plenty of vantage points to watch the Round the Island Race from the Isle of Wight, but if you can’t make it across the Solent, you can follow a GPS track of the event on the Round the Island Race website, accompanied by live commentary. You can even pause or replay the coverage to focus on key moments.
How can I get involved?
Boat entries close on Wednesday June 26 at midday and the entry fee is £35. Alternatively you can buy a crew place on a competing boat for around £500.
